 The Roofing Technician position is done for the purpose/s of inspecting, maintaining and repairing roofs with specific responsibility for maintaining facilities in safe operating condition, addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at the job sites.

 Hours

•         Weekdays, Monday through Friday
•         Between the hours of 7:00 a.m and 3:30 p.m.

 Job Duties

• Coordinates with manager and other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.

• Interfaces with roofing contractors for the purpose of ensuring work performed by contractors is accurate and the quality of work is acceptable. 

• Interprets work orders and blueprints for the purpose of determining material estimates and tools/equipment needed to complete a job.

• Performs the task of locating leaks for the purpose of performing quality roof repairs/waterproofing in a safe and timely manner.

• Performs routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs to all types of roof systems (e.g. built up roof, metal roof, membranes, etc.) for the purpose of providing safe water tight facilities.

• Performs inspections for the purpose of identifying roofing issues and determining the best repair procedures. 

• Performs inspections of interior ceilings for the purpose of identifying new leaks and monitoring existing leaks. 

• Performs repairs for the purpose of maintaining roof membranes, sub roofing, sheathing and base materials.

• Prepares written materials (e.g. work orders, repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.

• Purchases equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair. 

• Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns. 

• Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at the job site.

Requirements 

• Job related experience is required.
• Targeted, Job related education with study in job-related area.
•  Class “E” Driver’s License
• Must pass a pre-employment background check. (physical exam, drug test, and criminal justice fingerprint/background clearance)
